I haven't posted much this week because I have been really busy. One of my dearest friends had a birthday this past week. We had her a little surprise party. I baked a ham and baked beans, made potato salad and deviled eggs. I also baked her a spice cake with caramel icing. We sneaked in and decorated her kitchen table.

She was really surprised and we had an awesome time.

My hair has developed a mind of its own and is at that shaggy "I'm going to chop it all off stage." My friend and her mother can both cut hair. They had their own shop for a long time. I hate to even put this on here, but here is the before picture (of course I purposely did not do anything to it this day so you could see how scraggly it was getting).

They cut my hair one day this past week and I just let them decide to do what they wanted with it. I am loving it. It is so easy to care for. Hubby and I agreed that it is the best hair cut ever. They are going to color it and put some highlights in it this week. I love being pampered.

I stopped by a yard sale the other day and found this cute little angel figurine. I am in love with solid white no face angels for some reason.
I had another one that I got last year at a yard sale so I put them with this little picture. I need to keep my open for some more of them. I just love them.
Thirty-One had an outlet sale and I got this organizing little wallet for just $4.99.
I had seen one a while back that another consultant was carrying and wished I had bought one back when they carried them in the catalog.
I was so excited because it was the onyx medallion pattern. I already have the purse and the mini zipper pouch. Now I have a whole set of goodies to match. Plus my little business card holder goes well with it.
My hubby collects milk bottles and he has been looking for a good deal for one that had the cream separator neck style. He has seen them but they are normally $20 - $30 and we just won't pay that for them. But yesterday evening, I went to a local antique store and found this one for just $8. He was thrilled.
I also found this little Pyrex 407 square bowl. I adore it. It was just a few bucks and is perfect to hold a little snack.
Now I have some of the small blue, pink and yellow Pyrex bowls.
It goes good with my pink, blue and yellow regular size Pyrex.
I'm trying to get an overnight visit in with each grandchild before school starts. I had Garret last weekend and Caleb this weekend. I had my laptop sitting on the living room desk so I could check out the sneak peak at the fall catalog from Thirty-One (oh my gosh if you love Thirty-One you are going to explode with happiness when you see the new catalog. Best one ever.) Caleb wanted to get on the desk top computer but I was using the chair and desk. We compromised and turned the screen around and he got comfy in Papaw's chair and checked out his favorite site http://www.3000toys.com/ where he happily scrolls through the semi truck section.
So I got to drool over my wish list while he got to work on his for Christmas. We were both contented as could be. After vacations are over, the girls are going to stay all night with me again. Colby still doesn't like to leave Mommy for long periods of time so I'm going to take him somewhere for the day instead of overnight.

Each child gets to go shopping with me near their birthday. I let them pick out their birthday present and take them out to eat at the restaurant of their choice. Today will be Shelby's turn. It is so hard to believe that she is going to be 5. She starts to school this year and is developing her very own strong willed personality. Her mother's favorite saying right now is "I pick my battles." Apparently her Mom lost this battle. She posted this on Facebook and her caption was "Sometimes there are no words." I tend to agree.
She had her dance pictures made a couple of weeks ago. They turned out really good.

This one is all about attitude with a smile.

But my favorite was this one. I think it is because she looks exactly like her mommy.

And here is her entire little dance team.

Oh my grandbabies are growing up so much. Shelby does dance, Alexis is a cheerleader, Garret is playing football in high school starting this year, Caleb is taking guitar lessons and Colby may only be 2 1/2 but he has the makings of a pro baseball player. Can't wait to see what happens next with all of them.
