1. When did you last sing happy birthday to someone? When were you last sung to? Does that embarrass you or do you enjoy being the center of attention on your special day?
I last sang Happy Birthday to someone this past Sunday. My granddaughter, Alexis, turned 9 and we had her a birthday cookout at the river. I was last sung to the first Sunday of December last year. Our church sings Happy Birthday at the beginning of the month for all birthdays that month. It doesn't embarrass me to have my birthday acknowledged. It's always a good day when you wake up on this side of the dirt for another year.
2. Name a famous or 'infamous' person (living or deceased) who shares your birth day and month. Is that someone you'd like to meet in person if it were possible?
I share a birthday with Dick Van Dyke. I have always loved his show when I was little and adored him in Mary Poppins. Yes, I would love to meet him in person. He appears to be so "real" despite his celebrity status.
3. Someone hands you a box tied up in a lovely bow...what are you hoping to find inside?
I love gifts of any kind, but if it has a piece of Pyrex or is a pair of warm winter socks, I would be thrilled beyond words. Those are my two favorite things to get as gifts.
4. What can you guarantee about yourself?
I can guarantee that I would never intentionally hurt another human being. I can't stand the thought of hurting anyone physically or emotionally.
5. Talking art and beautiful cities here...'The Last Supper' in the Santa Maria della Grazie Abbey in Milan Italy or 'The Mona Lisa' in The Louvre, Paris...which would you most like to see up close and in person? Why?
I would love to see The Last Supper. That is a long been one of my favorite paintings.
6. Your favorite dessert?
No question about it .... a hot fudge sundae.
7. This coming weekend marks the official start of autumn (in the Northern hemisphere)...what is something you do to get ready for fall? What is one thing you're looking forward to on your fall calendar? Spring or fall-which do you prefer?
I love all the changing seasons and each has it's own merits so I can't choose between fall and spring. One thing I do to get ready for fall is to get out my fall decorations and redo the house. I also start breaking out the long sleeves shirts for cool days.

I had the honor of being at the beach when the Harvest Moon hit. It was without a doubt one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. It slowly rose out of the water and climbed into the sky. As it got higher in the sky, it lit a moonbeam glow across the ocean. Words cannot describe the beauty of it.

My son did a report on Abraham Lincoln and I learned a lot of interesting information about him too. I love that mouse trap comic! Have a fabulous day.

I'm confused.. Did you do two Hodgepodges on one post?.. Well, I had to laugh, because I found that we are very similar creatures when reading your answers to #8 on June 5th, and then question #1 on May 30th! I KNOW what you mean!! I love the mountain views in your picture. As soon as it gets dark here I walk around the house closing all the blinds, so I'm with you on that one :)
Oh, love that Jason Aldean! The ocean is one of my favorite places, but I won't get to see it till fall this year.

We went to The Keys last Christmas, and have reservations again this year. I can definitely see why people leave everything and move there...I would do it in a heartbeat! Well, for the winter, anyway! :)

We have been to Key West several times and just love it. A great place to visit and easy to walk around.

I love spinach! I disliked it as a kid, but my tastes have changed. Hot or cold, I love it both ways.

Sorry can't eat eggs, mayo or tuna because of allergies. The rest of the foods I just disliked. Must look for that book in the library. I love books about the low country.

So with you on the answer to number 4. I love the beach, paddling and reading and that breeze to cool you down you don't get at a pool.
I LOVE spinach though. Nicest thing to have in a salad is baby leaf spinach. I think a lot of people dislike spinach because they think of it all slimy when it's been boiled and gone all slimy and icky. Or spam.

Corn on the cob is one of my favorites! I don't drown it in butter like I did when I was a kid though...I prefer it with just a little salt now. We eat it most nights in the summer, as we're surrounded by farm stands all selling fresh corn. Yum!
