Just some random stuff for Wednesday...

The Fourth of July is upon us and I have a four day weekend to enjoy. I have a lot of work to get through today so I can have a clean desk when I leave.

I am in the process of redecorating my master bedroom. It has a beautiful quilt as the bedspread and it looks vintage, though it isn't. But I want to collect some cut glass vintage items on my dresser. I had some time to kill at lunch the other day so I popped in a local thrift store and found this for .50 cents. I knew I had to have it. When I got to the register, all vases and glassware was 1/2 off because they were overstocked. So I got this beauty for a quarter.

I forgot to post a picture of a beautiful Pyrex piece that I walked away from the other day when I was browsing an antique store. The price was $22.50. Which in Pyrex world is not really horrible, but since I prefer my Pyrex to be a lot less expensive, I walked away from it. But oh my, it was a thing of beauty.

The friendship pattern is one I have long searched for, but I have't seen many around these parts. Imagine my dismay when I walked upstairs in a local antique shop and spotted this little fellow at a very reasonable price. Since I am trying to collect all the 401 bowls in every pattern and this is one I really have been searching for, I think my heart actually skipped a beat.

I have a long way to go to get them all, but my collection is growing little by little.

We received our new information for July from home office for Thirty-One. I just love being a consultant for them. They always have something special going on. Right now, it is the Go Girl Go program. They are offering great incentives to sign up new consultants. I must say that it is the best $99.00 investment I ever made. I made my $99 back in commission at my first party. Check out one of the new fall purses that new consultants get. I hope to sign up someone while this special is going on.

The next four days are going to be hectic. I love the thought of having hubby home over a holiday. That almost never happens. Over the next few days I will be going antique shopping (TWICE!), to the used bookstore that I love, to Gatlinburg to play tourist for the day and Sunday I will have to rest up from all the fun. I don't know for sure, but we may even spend an evening at the ball park watching the Knoxville Smokies play.

Lots to do over the next few days so I better get busy with work so I can enjoy the mini-staycation.
