Very Pinteresting

My top 10 things I'm loving on Pinterest today.  I love these bracelets. Especially the one with the anchor. I  adore anything nautical.

I see vintage tablecloths a lot at yard sales, but they usually have stains and aren't big enough for my table. But this would be a great way to be able to have some and I could fold them so the stains are on the backside. I may have to do this. 

I absolutely adore this outfit. Especially the top and the shoes. 

A cute idea for Father's Day.

I have been seeing this idea in several different places. I am going to get some plants this weekend and do a few up like this for the front porch.



I used to embroider all the time when I was younger and I loved doing it. I think I'm going to look for a pattern and make me something on a dish towel.



How cute is this purse? Don't you just love it?



What a great idea for repurposing a headboard and foot board. They cut the foot board in half and built a seat in this to make a precious bench.



I want to find some crochet thread and have some little doilies made to coordinate with some of my Pyrex.

My Pyrex Wish List

The more I collect Pyrex, the more patterns I see. The more patterns I see, the more my wish list changes. Here are some of the recent patterns that are starting to catch my fancy. I love my little bowl from the New Dots pattern. I have the smallest one, but would love to collect the rest of the set. 

I recently got a good deal on a yellow Cinderella bowl. It is believed to be part of the Town and Country Cinderella Set. 

The Town and Country is one of my new favorite patterns. I have fallen in love with it. It not only comes with solid bowls, it comes with the pattern in a solid brown as well. I have the 442 bowl in the brown pattern.

But I would love to have the entire Cinderella and Mixing Bowl sets in this pattern. 

I am also really getting into collecting solid casseroles. I have the flamingo pink and the turquoise. I would like to find some of the other colors as well.

I also love the Pink Scroll, Pink Snowflake and Pink Daisy.

I am still waiting to find my first piece of Pyrex in a loaf pan. 

I would also love to have something in the black and white barbed wire pattern. Don't know why I like that so much, but I do.

But my biggest wish list item that I would really, really love to find is the balloons chip and dip set.  

And of course, the one that is almost considered one of the "must have" of all Pyrex collectors and that is the Butterprint. I see them a lot but not at a price I'm willing to pay...yet.

The Graduate

I can't believe that my oldest grandson just graduated 8th grade and will be going to high school next year. We are so very proud of him. 

They had a very nice ceremony. 

Garret received an Academic Award for Science.  

There is just something about watching diplomas handed out that brings tears to my eyes and reminds me how fast they grow up. 

The first of my grandchildren to be heading to high school. I'm starting to feel old. 

Finishing up my three day weekend...

My weekend was so busy. I didn't find much on my shopping trip yesterday, just a few things for craft projects. But when I got home, I fixed a big bowl of popcorn in my favorite new piece of Pyrex. I am loving this yellow bowl. 

Later in the evening, the neighborhood was so quiet and the sun was starting to fade so I went and sat on my porch swing to enjoy the piece and quiet. 

I decided to take some craft work out with me. It is so relaxing. I've had this almost done for a month. It just needed the trim on it. 

So now I have a cute little Chevron pattern coaster. 

I started a new project tonight with some baby yarn I had on hand. Not sure if it will be a box or a basket, but I do love this yarn. 

Speaking of babies, I can't believe that my grandchildren are growing up so fast. My first grandchild, Garret,  is graduating 8th grade tomorrow. It seems like just yesterday we were talking about him starting school. And now here he is getting ready for high school. I have to look up to him...literally. He's already a few inches taller than me and he's only 14. 

My second grandchild Caleb just turned 10 last Thursday. I still find it hard to believe he is 10. He had a birthday party at the local park and we all had a really good time. Gone is that little baby that could grab binky and fall asleep anywhere. He's almost as tall as me now. 

And our precious little princess Alexis is going to be going into 4th grade next year. She is so full of energy and life. She's been a cheerleader for basketball and this year she will be cheering for football. I wish I could bottle all her energy and borrow some of it. 

We are blessed with two precious princesses. Shelby starts school this fall. She will barely be 5 when school starts. She's our little ballerina and has been working hard getting ready for this year's recital. She dances around her house, at the store, anywhere she goes. 

Our little Colby is a live wire at 2 1/2 years old. He is so fun to watch when he plays ball or races cars. He is the only little boy I have ever known who would rather watch racing or baseball games instead of cartoons. He's developing his own personality and he is just adorable.

My weekend so far..

Happy Memorial Day! Hope you have lots of great plans for today. I am going on my annual shopping trek with my daughter and her mother-in-law. We go every Memorial Day. This year I made me a primitive applique tote to carry in honor of the holiday. Turned out pretty cute. 

I came home from church yesterday and decided to fix some things for today so I wouldn't have to cook supper tonight. I was in a cooking mood plus I got to use lots of my Pyrex. I used my Town and Country (my new favorite pattern) to hold the boiled eggs after I peeled them. 

I made some potato salad with part of the eggs and made deviled eggs with the rest. 

I love using my Mix and Mash from Pampered Chef to mash up my eggs. Faster and easier than a chopper and not as much clean up.  

The potato salad turned out really good. I forgot to get a picture of the deviled eggs, but they turned out too. I also baked a small ham and basted it with pineapple juice and brown sugar. 

I don't mind doing dishes when it is my Pyrex bowls. 

For dessert, I decided to make some brownies. I used my brownie pan because it makes the best perfect sized brownies. 

A lady at church makes this dessert with brownie mix, chocolate chip cookie dough and Milky Ways. I didn't have the cookie dough, but I had just bought a bag of the new Milky Way Bites. So I put one of these smack dab in the middle of each brownie section before I baked it. 

The result was a delicious brownie with a ooey gooey center. Yummy! That's breakfast this morning. 

By the way, check out my Patriotic table. I bought the flowers Saturday for $1 a bush (I bought six of them) at the Dollar Tree. The place mats came from Bed, Bath and Beyond for just .99 cents each. I used the only solid neutral table cloth I had. But Walmart has a gorgeous red one that matches the red, but they were out of stock on my size. I'm going to look at a different Walmart today. I think I will keep my table like this for most of the summer since June has flag day and July has the 4th. 

Also on Saturday, I went to the Farmer's Market in Knoxville, TN. They have it every Saturday starting at 9:00. It is so much more than fruits and veggies. There are craft vendors, food, music, just tons of fun.  This one booth, Decorella, had the cutest little chairs. 

 

Another lady had handmade jewelry. These bracelets are just yard sale watches she finds that don't work and she glues stones or medallions on the face to create a bracelet. 

She also makes some unique necklaces, like this one that is the insides of a watch and the one that is made from ball bearings from a bicycle chain. 

Another booth had some beautiful flowers just stuck in a Mason jar with Jute wrapped around it. 

 

And this one is flowers in a tin can like juice or soup. I want to do some of these for my porch. Only I want to tie some jute around the can like she did the jar. Simple and easy, but oh so lovely. 

How cute are these pendants. They had every letter of the alphabet. Kind of like build your own banner theme. 

Well, time to get ready for my day. Wonder what great finds I will have today.
