Nine years ago today, God blessed us with our first granddaughter. Our very own miracle. Scaring us by arriving over two months early, she was a fighter from day one.
She was born healthy at only 1 lb and 14 ounces and only 13" long. But they had to keep her so she could be monitored while her lungs finished developing and she put on some weight.
Seeing her Mommy feed her was like looking at somebody with a little doll and doll baby bottle. She gave new meaning to the words "itty bitty".
She was in great health to be born so tiny. Her daddy wasn't quite sure what to do with this new tiny baby girl.
She was two months old, weighing about 2 1/2 pounds, when she came home from the hospital healthy and happy. Papaw and I were so happy to get to have her home where we could hold her and love her.
She is a modern day princess, full of grace and beauty.
She is forever finding joy in whatever she is doing.

Her smile lights up a room and just melts my heart.
She's turning into a classy young lady and she grabs every minute life has to offer.

She has a silly side that is so contagious, you just can't help but stay in a great mood when she's around.

At nine years old, she is still a tiny little thing, especially compared to her big brother.

Happy birthday Alexis. We love you.
